⚖️ Balance Is B.S...Try This Instead!

balance execution leadership mindset productivity slef management success time management

Has the chaos of daily demands ever made you feel "Out of Control?" The truth is you are not alone. In fact, this is a question I often get from people I coach and the audiences I speak to. People seemed to be amazed that I can

Have a full-time career as a Naval Officer

Have a successful speaking, coaching, and training business

All while being a present Father, Husband, and Leader for my family.

I say this not to impress you but to impress upon you the power of identifying your priorities. One of the first things I do when onboarding new coaching clients is to conduct a full DISC Personality assessment and have them identify their core values.

Only when you get clear on what you truly value can you set a standard by which you operate on a day-to-day basis.

Most people make choices and decisions that are totally out of line with what they desire and as result, they continue to live their life by default settings. The "People Pleaser" is not by design, it is a default setting that was programmed in us at an early age...but that is a topic for another day.

What I want you to consider is that instead of trying to find balance, pursue harmony instead.

Think about when you balance a scale...what needs to happen.

It needs to be completely still (not moving)

It has to be at 0 (not doing anything)

Now take this and apply it to your life...

If you stand still and do nothing, nothing will happen in your life.

But when you are in harmony, you find a common thread that allows you to fire on all cylinders and execute the important tasks in your life. More importantly, you are able to quickly identify what and who you should be saying yes/no to.

Here are 2 ways to create harmony:

1. Identify your core values and vision for your life. Where are you going and what are you creating?

2. Every time you are presented with an opportunity or obstacle, compare it to your core values and vision.

Does it align with them and does it move you forward?

If not...then it is a HARD NO

If it does...then it is a HELL YES.

Remember, there is no value in the gray area. YES OR NO.

The more you are consistent with this, the more you train people how to treat you. No longer will people come to you with their B.S. because they know what you will and will not tolerate.

Most importantly, you are focused on investing in the important things in your life.
